TnSHA Freedom Show & Clinic

Trail Course at Jeff King StablesJuly 13 & 14:??With a new venue, a new clinician, new photographer and some new faces (as well as many familiar ones), the Freedom Show & Clinic was a huge success.

Although they had hosted clinics for TnSHA in the past, this was the first time Jeff and Sheila King hosted a stock horse show at their beautiful facility, Jeff King Stables, in Arrington, TN. Everyone was very happy with the new venue and several competitors commented on how smoothly and quickly the show ran. We would like to give a huge thank you to the King???s for opening their doors to us and for helping to make this event an instant hit!

Brad Lund, a new clinician for the TnSHA, gave top notch instruction to each and every clinic attendee. First, Brad worked with riders on bending and lifting while trotting circles. Then, he went into lead changes and gave each rider individual attention to help everyone achieve at least a few successful flying lead changes. Riders then had instruction while working the flag. After lunch, the group broke into two and while one group practiced trail and pleasure, the other group worked a cow with more of Brad???s valuable teaching.

Everyone in attendance was more than impressed with the instruction they received and many remarked at how he tailored his coaching to suit each horse/rider combination. Now, clinic attendees can say they were given professional instruction by a three time super horse champion and a top NRCHA money earner! Many thanks to Brad Lund. We hope he can join us again in the future.

Cow Class Jeff King StablesSunday began the competition with Trail on an outdoor course complete with a creek, a back around between trees, and other natural type obstacles one would encounter on a ranch. Pleasure was also held in a grass field for the first time. Then after lunch, the competition moved inside for Reining and Working Cow Horse. As usual, camaraderie was in full effect as competitors cheered each other on and gave tips from the sidelines.

For the first time, we also welcomed professional photographers, Soco Media & Design. They were gracious enough to waive their on location fee and shoot our event for free. They took hundreds of great photos of the entire weekend and participants were able to see them shortly after each event at their booth alongside the arena. Thanks again to all who attended the Freedom Show & Clinic, as well as all of those working behind the scenes to make it the success it was. See Ya???ll in September!
